Thom Bierdz (born March 25, 1962) is an American actor best known for his portrayal of Phillip Chancellor III on the daytime drama The Young and the Restless, appearing from 1986 to 1989, returning for a "dream sequence" in 2004, and in a surprising twist, returned to the role in May 2009. He was also a guest star on Melrose Place as Sarah's abusive boyfriend Hank.

In 1989, Thom left his popular role of Philip on the number one daytime serial "Young and the Restless" to pursue big screen stardom, but a horrific tragedy occurred when his paranoid schizophrenic brother Troy killed their mother with a baseball bat. His brother is serving life in prison. His other brother Craig, in a deep depression, shot himself in 2000, at which time, Thom decided to come out as a gay man and share his experiences with the world--through his paintings, and through his autobiography "Forgiving Troy".
